Meet Our Camp Management Staff

Alyson Gondek

Alyson Gondek has been with Camp Woodmont for nearly 4 decades. Throughout her camp career, she has acted as a Counselor, Sous Chef, Assistant Program Director, Horseback & Swimming instructor and Director, and Associate Visitor for the American Camp Association. She will tell you, however, that her favorite job at camp was being a counselor and working directly with the kids.

Alyson graduated from Georgia Southern College with a degree in public relations in 1986.  She worked for a national public relations agency in Atlanta, and then spent seven years in marketing at Northside Hospital and Egleston Children’s Hospital.  She opened her own public relations firm, Progressive Marketing, in 1999, and worked with a number of healthcare clients.  In 2003, Alyson decided to return to the family business full-time as the camp director for Camp Woodmont.

Alyson lives in Chattanooga, TN with her husband, Mike.  She enjoys anything that has to do with her three grandchildren  AND pickleball!

Maintenance Director

Joe Arthur

We are delighted to have Joe Arthur as Maintenance Director!  Joe manages year-round camp maintenance, repair, building and landscaping.  Joe is a welder by trade, but he has experience with all types of industrial maintenance. He has lived and worked on a farm most of his life so he knows what it takes to care for 170 acres. Joe is a skilled carpenter, electrician and plumber.  He has a passion for working with his hands.  Whether it’s making a new water fountain, building new benches or landscaping, Joe has the experience and know-how to fix, repair and build just about anything (which is necessary at camp!) In his free time, Joe spends time with his 16-year old son fishing and hunting.

Chef & Kitchen Manager

Mary Robledo

Mary Robledo joined Camp Woodmont in 2023 as our head chef and kitchen manager!  We were astounded by Mary’s tenacity and ability to manage our commercial kitchen and our helpers efficiently and effectively!  Mary and her husband, Kris, and two children Abby and Rayland, moved to the camp in May 2023 in their RV.  As full-time RVers, the Robledo's move from state to state working various jobs and gaining a vast array of experience.  Originally from Miami, Mary realized her passion for cooking and working with children when she worked at Canopy Oaks resort in Miami.  Her experience as a teaching assistant was also ideal for managing the kitchen at Camp Woodmont.  She has an associate’s degree in Business Administration from Broward College.  Fun facts: She is Cuban and loves to hunt and fish. But mostly, she has a true passion for cooking, especially for large groups.  Her husband, Kris, is a tremendous helper in the camp kitchen and other projects (when he’s not working his online full-time job).  He is also an outstanding hunter and fisherman, and hikes all the tough trails at camp!  Together this duo is dynamic!  We’re so delighted to have them return in 2025!  Mary has some great ideas for camp menus and we are looking forward to what she has in store for us!
